What Happened?

Yeah, the Mac died, I got a new job, bought a house and Hubby got laid off. Needless to say, I've been a bit off the grid lately. But mascot Hubby would like you to know that Crazy Crafty Cat Chick will be posting more often now. In spite of shitty insurance, I am doing very well on Cymbalta and living life without wanting to kill others or myself. Always a good thing! My job is great, the people there are fantastic. My cats are wonderful as always. And I have a social life, now. Who knew life could be so good once you get stable?

New House

Hubby, Drama, Stetson, Tubby, BabyGirl, Mike Neko, Deano and I all moved into our new house last weekend. We are slowly but surely settling in and changing things to our liking. I put up new curtians so we won't get TOO familiar with our neighbors. Drama has discovered that being inside the basement drop ceiling is the place to be. Hubby and I bought a new sink/countertop for the bathroom today. The one that came with the house is probably 20 years old and has a shell shape for the sink. We have a nice sized lot with some birches and stuff. Not too big though, which is good. Neither Hubby nor I are very jazzed about yard work. I started doing laundry the other night and was thrilled about it since it wasn't 3 floors down and 2 security doors away.

Here are a few pics. Think of them as "before." The house will be a work in progress, I have a lot of plans. Hardwood or tile in the kitchen and bath. Glass backsplash in the kitchen. And of course, paint everywhere.

Introducing Deano Martino

Here are the first photos of our new kitten. Hubby named him Deano after Dean Martin of the Rat Pack...

He's full of energy and a total clown. He'll dive bomb the big cats so he's either very dumb or really brave. And he's very smart. Just adorable.

On the Home Front

We should be closing on our first home around the 19th. It's a duplex in a suburb of Madison. Enough room for Hubby, the kitties and myself. I have tons of ideas already for decorating.
The new job is still going really well. Today went by really quickly. Such a nice change from watching the clock, suffering with every passing minute.
I've started a new semi-hobby. I've stretched my ear piercings from the regular size up to 10 gauge. I won't be going all crazy big, so don't freak. We'll see. "Why?" you ask? Because all of the cool earrings are in bigger gauges. So there.
